About ten o’clock in the evening, in windy and rainy weather, a tall policeman walked around his station. Near the entrance to one of the shops, he saw a man and walked up to him. The man struck a match to light a cigarette and the policeman could make out his face. The man explained that he was waiting for his friend. Twenty years ago, at this very place - once there was a restaurant - he broke up with his best friend Jim. The man went to the West to seek happiness, and Jim remained in New York. Friends agreed to meet in twenty years. And today, at ten o’clock in the evening, Jim, the most faithful and reliable person in the world, must come to the appointed place. Wishing the stranger good luck, the policeman continued the detour.
Twenty minutes later a tall man walked to the store. The friends met and decided to mark the meeting in a nook. On the way, a man from the West told the story of his career, Jim said that he serves in one of the city institutions.
The satellites reached the store lit by the lights and looked into each other's faces. A man from the West saw that he was not Jim. To which another replied that a man from the West is under arrest. The police became aware that the Silk Bob criminal should arrive in New York, but before handing him over to justice, he had to carry out one task - to hand over a note from policeman Jim to Silk Bob.
In a note, Jim wrote that he arrived on time at the appointed place. Seeing that in front of him the man whom the police were looking for, he could not arrest his friend himself and entrusted this to his plainclothes agent.
